Real estate developer AFI Europe has obtained the LEED v4.1 O+M certification for its AFI Cotroceni mall in Bucharest. The company was assisted by Colliers in obtaining the green certification.
The LEED v4.1 Operations + Maintenance (O+M) certification is an ongoing commitment to implement the sustainability practices initiated as part of the certification process with a requirement to recertify every three years.
“LEED-certified buildings reduce carbon emissions and are essential in addressing the climate crisis and meeting the developer’s ESG goals,” says Roxana Isopescu, Senior Sustainability Consultant | ESG Strategic Advisory.
AFI Cotroceni shopping mall has a leasable area of around 90,000sq m. Across Romania; AFI Europe has a commercial portfolio of retail and office projects spanning 500,000sq m. The company is also present in the residential segment.
