The outdoor retailer, known for its immersive retail destinations, plans to open a 100,000sq ft store in College Station, Texas, adjacent to the future South College Station baseball and softball complex.
Subject to all necessary approvals, the store is expected to open in 2028. The news follows Bass Pro’s recent growth in the Lone Star State, including newly opened locations in Odessa, Tyler, Spring and Grand Prairie, along with a planned location expected to open in early 2027 in Abilene.
With the addition of the College Station and Abilene locations, Bass Pro will have 20 locations across Texas. Earlier this year, the company announced plans for its single largest single-level location to date, a 200,000sq ft location at Riverton in Sayreville, New Jersey.
Similar to all Bass Pro Shops locations, the College Station store will feature a completely unique custom design. Envisioned as a tribute to the great sporting heritage of the region and a celebration of Texas’ rich outdoor traditions, it will feature the company’s signature shopping experience, combining retail with entertainment, outdoor education and conservation. Artists and craftsmen will design the store’s localised imagery to emphasise its immersive outdoor theme.
