Bass Pro Shops to Open Massive Store in New Jersey

The outdoor retailer, best known for its immersive retail destinations, will open a 200,000sq ft store – its largest single-level location to date – at Riverton in Sayreville, New Jersey.

Opening this fall, the outpost will feature Bass Pro’s signature shopping experience combining retail with entertainment, outdoor education and conservation.

The store will be anchored by a 65,000-gallon “Shipwreck Aquarium” and 12,000-gallon stingray touch pool with jellyfish. It will also boast an interactive “Sketch Aquarium” for kids and other immersive exhibits and hands-on learning opportunities. A team of artists and craftsmen will design the store’s localised imagery to reinforce its immersive outdoor theme.

In addition to a vast assortment of fishing and outdoor gear, the location will showcase industry-leading boat brands, along off-road vehicles and side-by-sides.

“This location and concept will be unlike anything ever seen in the outdoor retail industry and truly opens a new chapter in the Bass Pro Shops story,” said Johnny Morris, Founder of Bass Pro Shops. “To be able to showcase the importance of conservation and help inspire passion for the outdoors with so many families is downright exciting.”

Bass Pro Shops operates 182 locations throughout North America. At each store, customers are invited to “round up” at the register and online through the Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s Outdoor Fund to join the cause and advance programs aimed at conserving habitat and wildlife, advocating for sportsmen’s rights and connecting new audiences to the outdoors.
