Best Buy to Quit Mexico

The company said that it will close all of its stores in Mexico as Covid-19 cases continue to increase.

The company operated as many as 49 stores throughout Mexico this year, however after a review of their activities to examine potential areas to cut back on, Best Buy decided to close all of the stores in Mexico as the country is its smallest market.

Best Buy Chief Executive Corie Sue Barry, commented: “During the quarter, we made the difficult decision to exit our operations in Mexico. I want to thank the teams in Mexico for their tremendous work over the past several years. They should all be incredibly proud of their accomplishments.”

The company has not specified how many jobs will be lost as a result of the closures.
