German footwear brand Birkenstock has opened a new flagship store in Shibuya, Tokyo, further expanding its retail footprint in Japan.
The boutique is the brand’s 13th directly operated store in the country. Inspired by the theme of ‘Flow’, the store draws on Shibuya’s waterways and features natural materials, including cork, wood and stainless steel, throughout the space.
Customers can shop Birkenstock’s full product range, including sandals, clogs, shoes, the latest 1774 collection and shoe care products. The store also features a dedicated care essentials area, finished with green tiles inspired by flowing water, designed to create an immersive experience that reflects the brand’s philosophy and values.
“Our new store embodies the brand’s commitment to craftsmanship, authenticity and its purpose of enabling people to walk as nature intended,” Birkenstock said.
