Leading outdoor retailer Blacks reopened its newly refitted Glasgow store, unveiling a refined, design-led retail space that reflects the brand’s elevated identity for 2026.
To celebrate the refurbishment, a store event held on Thursday 4 June welcomed over 700 visitors through the doors. As the final Blacks Pinnacle store event, it was also the busiest, with a clear buzz from the outdoor community who attended throughout. Guests enjoyed drinks and treats while browsing the new ranges to a DJ set. YETI were also on site offering drinkware personalisation, which proved to be a popular attraction with customers.
On Saturday 6 June, celebrations continued as the Blacks community came together in partnership with YETI to take on Ben Lomond, with an 8:30am start from Rowardennan Car Park. Covering eight miles and climbing approximately 3,200ft, the route offered a solid six-hour challenge, combining a steady initial ascent with more demanding, exposed terrain higher up.
Widely regarded as one of Scotland’s most accessible Munros, Ben Lomond delivered a rewarding balance of effort and scenery, with expansive views across Loch Lomond and the surrounding Highlands. Overall, it proved to be a well-paced, achievable hike that still offered a strong sense of challenge and accomplishment for the group. The weather didn’t dampen spirits, with positive feedback from attendees across the board.
Blacks Social Media Executive and outdoor enthusiast Cameron Hinchcliffe commented: “I am proud to have been a part of both the Blacks Glasgow store event and community hike. There was a real buzz from our community who got to experience our Original in Nature ethos in a social setting. For us, it’s about catering for city to outdoor lifestyles by offering cutting edge outdoor gear that moves effortlessly from city streets to open spaces and across both events there was a real sense of enthusiasm for the brand’s new direction.”
The newly refreshed store introduces a curated, modern environment focused on a carefully crafted product range, thoughtful storytelling and considered design details. The space blends functionality with a clean, contemporary aesthetic, showcasing performance-led outdoor gear with an emphasis on style, quality and longevity.
Spanning over 5,000sq ft, the updated store features an improved layout and enhanced visual presentation designed to bring Blacks’ curated product edits to life. The store team of 11 expertly trained colleagues provide tailored advice across footwear, apparel, equipment and local outdoor routes.
The store brings together a refined edit of outdoor and lifestyle brands, including Rab, Columbia, The North Face, Montane, Merrell, Salomon, Scarpa and YETI, each selected for technical innovation and design appeal.
