Bottega Veneta Launches New Factory

The Italian brand of the luxury group Kering, known for its leather goods and in particular, for its braided leather technique, the intrecciato, has announced the opening of a new factory dedicated to footwear in Vigonza.

This manufacturing district is located in Veneto, the region where the brand has been established since its origins. Founded in 1966 in Vicenza under the aegis of Renzo Zengiaro, Bottega Veneta still maintains most of its production workshops around Venice, including its main headquarters located in Montebello Vicentino.

With this new factory, the brand reorganises its footwear division, bringing together handicrafts and all stages of the manufacturing process in one place, from conception to development, including research, quality control, prototypes and the final product.

The building of more than 5,450sq m, spread over three floors, is distinguished by a facade of perforated dark metal panels reminiscent of the intrecciato. It was built “by adopting innovative solutions to reduce its impact on the environment”, specifies the company in a statement. The workshop will employ over 100 people and produce the creations of Artistic Director Matthieu Blazy.
