The American fashion brand for babies and children, Carter’s, has confirmed the opening of its first stand-alone store in Colombia, with a location in the El Tesoro shopping centre in Medellin.

The space will open its doors in mid-December, in time for the Christmas and New Year’s season in the city.

Currently, the brand is present in Pepe Ganga stores throughout the country, a chain that is also its local partner. Additionally, one of its stores in Bogotá features a specialised Carter’s shop-in-shop; however, this store is its first standalone venture.

Carter’s is one of the world’s most traditional and well-known brands for baby clothes, offering natural fabrics, cottons and blends in a variety of designs, from newborn to eight years old.

The children’s fashion market is growing in Colombia, with the creation of local brands and new foreign competition, such as Baby Cottons, Carter’s and Mayoral, among others.
