Last week it was announced that while Apple kept prices for its new iPhone at current levels in the US, they have raised them in some Asian countries.
The move comes after some currencies have dropped against the dollar in the past year. People who purchase the standard iPhone 14 in Japan – where the yen has slumped 24 per cent – will pay 20 per cent more than they did for the iPhone 13 when it was launched a year ago at 99,800 yen.
Analysts have warned Apple that they should brace for less demand in China after the economy has been severely weakened following multiple Covid-lockdowns that have halted consumer spending.
