Converse Unveils ‘Next Generation’ Stores in Nanjing and Shanghai

Sneaker brand Converse has opened two new stores in Mainland China, one in Nanjing and one in Shanghai.

Both ‘next-generation’ openings will showcase Converse’s creativity and serve as tributes to the culture of their respective cities. The Nanjing store follows the Converse Star Concept design, featuring elevated products, immersive experiences and local cultural storytelling.

Converse sells its products at more than 700 locations across Mainland China, led by its Star Concept and X-Ing locations.

“Notably, the opening of the Nanjing store brought these locally rooted influences together with the Chuck 70 X, a heritage-rooted evolution of our icon featuring an updated fit, an ‘anti-gravity’ cushioning insole and signature details,” Converse said in an announcement.

Customers can also shop the store’s dedicated Converse Select product zone, which will feature premier and early-access products.

The Converse Shanghai X-Ing store on Shanghai’s Yuyuan Road “takes the idea of a concept shop a step further”, the company said. “It invites creators, designers and consumers to connect, create and express themselves through creative pop-ups, art exhibitions, customisation experiences and community-driven programming,” Converse added.
