Hotaru Holdings has launched CRISP., a bakery in Dubai inspired by Nordic baking traditions, enhancing its culinary portfolio alongside chef Reif Othman.
In 2024, Othman joined a five-week pop-up at Copenhagen’s famous, 19th-century Tivoli Gardens. During his time there, he was inspired by the city’s bakeries and their dedication to baking. As such, CRISP. highlights Nordic-inspired baking and serves fresh breads, pastries, doughnuts and viennoiseries made using traditional methods.
“CRISP. is all about celebrating and showing respect for Nordic baking and expertly brewed coffee,” says Othman. “The name is onomatopoeic, as in the sound when you break open a flaky, freshly prepared croissant or baguette. It is all about the crisp.”
The new bakery strengthens Hotaru’s presence in Dubai and its partnership with Othman. The company’s passion for culinary excellence and innovation is evident in its brands, including REIF Japanese Kushiyaki, TERO, Hoe Lee Kow, Kushi and now CRISP, which is available on Deliveroo.
Hotaru Holdings was founded in 2019 by Othman and Ahsan Kahlon. The company focuses on introducing unique Asian flavours through premium-casual dining concepts.
