Daikan Izakaya Plans Second Abu Dhabi Restaurant

The Japanese dining concept is due to open on Al Maryah Island in November with a new menu and Tokyo-inspired interiors.

Daikan Izakaya, the UAE restaurant concept serving Japanese ramen, grilled skewers and sharing plates, plans to open at The Galleria Al Maryah Island in Abu Dhabi in November 2026.

The restaurant will be the brand’s second in the capital and third in the UAE, joining its outlets at Yas Bay Waterfront in Abu Dhabi and C2 City Walk in Dubai. It will introduce a new menu, interior concept and drinks programme.

Daikan Izakaya is part of Daikan Hospitality Group, a UAE business founded by two brothers from Germany. The group operates two distinct restaurant concepts: Daikan Ramen, which focuses on ramen and everyday dining and Daikan Izakaya, which combines a broader menu with drinks, music and a setting designed for social dining.

At The Galleria, the food offering will include ramen, yakitori (Japanese grilled chicken skewers) and dishes intended to be shared. Further details of the new dishes are still to be disclosed, but the restaurant will retain the mix of noodle bowls and smaller plates associated with the Izakaya concept.

The bar will serve established Daikan Izakaya drinks, including the Natsu Martini, Goma Kaze and Genkidama and the Lichi Paloma spritz. The restaurant is expected to open daily from noon to 1am.
