Diriyah Company, known for Saudi Arabia‘s premier historical, cultural and lifestyle destination development, has announced the launch of a 1.9km-long main spine in the kingdom’s ancient city, within its mega development.
The project was unveiled during the MIPIM 2026 real estate expo in France and will be a new cultural & retail corridor connecting Diriyah to King Saud University. The Grand Avenue will showcase iconic landmarks, hotels, offices, retail spaces and residential units.
The design of Diriyah Grand Avenue includes a vibrant pedestrian boulevard that will connect the historic Diriyah district with King Saud University, creating a powerful link between culture, education, tourism and retail.
This project reflects the broader development vision championed by HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, focused on building integrated districts that combine heritage, innovation and economic growth.
Grand Avenue will be a lively pedestrian destination featuring retail, dining and lifestyle experiences, all designed with authentic Najdi architectural identity to preserve the cultural character of Diriyah. By linking Diriyah directly with King Saud University, the project connects a world-class cultural tourism destination with one of Saudi Arabia’s largest academic institutions.
The wider Diriyah development, led by Diriyah Company, represents more than $60bn in investment and aims to become one of the world’s leading cultural and tourism destinations.
