Doctor Dough Pizza to Open First Permanent Site

Doctor Dough Pizza, the independent pizza brand that won over London’s food lovers following for its New York-style slices and uniquely light, easy-to-digest dough, is opening its first permanent restaurant at 19 Devonshire Road, Chiswick next month.

The new site will open for pre-orders on the 5th and collection will commence from 6th August. From mid-September, guests will be able to can enjoy the full Doctor Dough experience, with sit-down dining, starters, desserts, cocktails, wine and more.

Founded by West London entrepreneur Sonay Ali, Doctor Dough Pizza first gained popularity from a stall in Hammersmith’s Lyric Square Market, where queues quickly formed for its New York-style slices, characterised by rich tomato sauce, burst cherry tomatoes and perfectly balanced mozzarella and parmesan.

The opening marks a major milestone for the business, which has grown organically through market trading, pop-up residencies and collaborations with some of London’s best-loved independent operators, including supporting the launch of Vincenzo’s.

Doctor Dough is the creation of founder Sonay, whose obsession with making the perfect pizza has been years in the making. Starting with humble pop-ups and selling out week after week, he spent countless hours refining every element of his recipe – from developing a light, digestible dough to carefully selecting the best tomatoes and cheeses.

Inspired in part by his experience living with Crohn’s disease, he set out to create a pizza that never compromised on flavour while feeling lighter to eat. His passion for pizza led him to develop a distinctive fermented dough-making process, creating a lighter, more digestible pizza that retains the flavour, texture and indulgence of traditional New York-style slices. The approach inspired both the business and its name: Doctor Dough.
