Dubai has launched the $21.8M Dubai Creek Lights project, creating an eight kilometre illuminated waterfront with 5,000 lighting units by Q1 2027.
Dubai Municipality has begun implementing the AED80M ($21.8M) Dubai Creek Lights project, an initiative that will illuminate eight kilometres of the historic Dubai Creek with more than 5,000 lighting units as part of efforts to enhance the city’s public spaces and nighttime experience.
Launched under the directives of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, the project is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2027.
The investment will create an integrated visual and urban experience spanning 8km of Dubai Creek, highlighting the area’s historical, architectural and cultural identity while strengthening its position as a world-class nighttime destination.
The project will celebrate the Creek’s heritage through a distinctive nighttime experience designed to showcase its landmarks while bringing greater vibrancy to its waterfronts and public spaces after sunset.
