RETAIL REIMAGINED AT
THE EXCHANGE TRX
The new social heart of Kuala Lumpur offers a visionary
glimpse into tomorrow’s urban living
In creating places where communities thrive, leading international real estate group, Lendlease, is bringing its
expertise in placemaking to its largest integrated development in Asia. The Exchange TRX, located in Kuala
Lumpur, is a lifestyle precinct that forms the social heart of Malaysia’s first master-planned international financial
district. Within The Exchange TRX are Malaysia’s first Kimpton® Hotels & Restaurants; six premier residential
towers, TRX Residences; and a low-rise large floor plate campus style office which are all anchored by a 1.3
million sq. ft. lifestyle destination featuring over 400 exciting retail and dining offerings.
Lendlease’s global portfolio includes some of the
world’s most iconic developments that have pushed
the boundaries of innovation like Sydney’s Barangaroo
South, London’s Elephant and Castle, and Malaysia’s
iconic Petronas Twin Towers. These developments deliver
some of the finest thinking in technology, wellbeing,
sustainability, design innovation and placemaking, and
we are excited to bring this forward-thinking approach to
The Exchange TRX.
“Our vision and the cornerstone of Lendlease’s strategy
with The Exchange TRX is to create a city defining project
for Malaysia. As a global organisation, we will showcase
our international placemaking expertise alongside our
43-year history in Malaysia to introduce our signature
approach to experiential retail. We believe the diverse retail
mix complemented by dynamic leisure and entertainment
activations will serve as a key point of differentiation and
will drive visitors to linger longer and make repeated visits
when we open our doors to the public in Q4 2023,” says
Mitch Wilson, Project Director for The Exchange TRX and
Head of Retail for Lendlease Malaysia.
The Exchange TRX boasts a fully leased luxury floor, with the LVMH Group opening 17 brands such as Louis
Vuitton, Christian Dior, and Tiffany & Co.; the Kering Group bringing in Gucci, Saint Laurent, and Balenciaga;
and Chanel showcasing a new, full-line store that celebrates the French house’s longstanding heritage. The High
Street Fashion precinct features exclusive collections from leading brands like Adidas, Puma, and Nike that will
help customers strike the perfect balance between style and sports.
While retail plays a crucial part in The Exchange TRX’s masterplan to rejuvenate the local commercial scene, it
manages to seamlessly integrate with nature to create a preferred destination for arts, cultural exchanges, and
healthy living with the 10-acre TRX City Park. This rooftop activated public park features a biodiverse ecosystem
of over 150,000 plantings from close to 150 native plant species, offering children’s play areas, water features,
and shaded enclaves, joining other notable urban parks in the world such as High Line in New York, Namba Park
in Osaka, and Gardens by the Bay in Singapore.
