The unique furniture retailer will open a store that occupies an area of nearly 44,000sq ft at CF Polo Park.
The space was previously occupied by Sears, who vacated the store in December 2017. Due to open towards the end of 2021, the new EQ3 store is part of an overall redevelopment project for the shopping centre, being carried out by Cadillac Fairview. The redevelopment of the Polo Park Area will also include office space and further retail opportunities.
Josh Thomson, Senior Vice President of Development at Cadillac Fairview, commented: “As part of this redevelopment, we are also in the process of considering residential development in the area. This represents an incredible opportunity to increase density at the premier shopping district in Winnipeg, especially at a time when cities across Canada will be looking for opportunities to spark economic activity as we plan for long-term recovery from the pandemic.”
The EQ3 flagship will be located on the lower level of the space.
