Get Living has today announced that the cinema chain Everyman will open one of its largest venues in London at The Elephant, the new £500M town centre at Elephant & Castle.
The five-screen cinema, which is Everyman’s 17th venue in the capital, will show the latest blockbusters, independent films and timeless classics, alongside a curated programme of events, including Q&As, screenings, live broadcast theatre, opera and ballet and exclusive members’ events.
Every screening will be enjoyed from Everyman’s iconic velvet sofas and armchairs, with warm, personalised hospitality, a stylish bar and food and drinks served directly to your seat.
Everyman’s Elephant & Castle location is the next chapter in the area’s long history with British film and cinema and was the childhood home of both Sir Michael Caine and Charlie Chaplin. Named after a coaching inn recorded in 1765, Elephant & Castle was known as the ‘Piccadilly Circus of south London’ by the early 20th century, a bustling shopping and entertainment district home to seven cinemas including the vast 3,000-seat Trocadero.
Everyman is the latest in a raft of new names that have signed up at The Elephant. This includes Pret A Manger and Bird & Blend, the speciality tea brand known for its creative blends and experiential retail approach, which will introduce a distinctive, experience-led offer. Additionally, Superdrug will bring its accessible health and beauty retail to the town centre.
Launching in late 2026, The Elephant will be among the largest new retail-led town centre openings in Zone 1 in recent years. The scheme will welcome a carefully curated mix of best-in-class national brands and distinctive independents, including M&S, Blank Street, Jungle Berry and local hotspot DistriAndina, establishing a high-quality, experience-led destination for the area.
