Accor has introduced the Mercure brand to Riyadh with the opening of Mercure Riyadh Al Anood, marking the first Mercure property in the Saudi capital. This addition strengthens Accor’s presence in the Kingdom and aligns with its broader expansion strategy.
The new hotel caters to the growing demand for business-friendly and midscale hospitality options, aligning with Vision 2030’s focus on tourism and economic diversification. Located in a key district, this property offers convenient access to commercial and government hubs, featuring modern amenities, dining options, and business facilities.
The new hotel is located in Riyadh’s Al Murabba district, a central area with access to key commercial and cultural landmarks. It is near Faisaliah Tower and the Diplomatic Quarter, with King Khalid International Airport approximately 20 kilometres away. The location positions the hotel as a viable option for both business and leisure travellers.
Paul Stevens, chief operating officer of the premium, midscale and economy division, Middle East, Africa & Türkiye at Accor, shared: “Opening Mercure Riyadh Al Anood is a major step in expanding the Mercure brand across the Kingdom. With this new property, we continue to offer experiences rooted in the local culture, enhancing our guests’ connection to the city through our ‘Discover Local’ program.”
The hotel features 135 rooms and suites, including Superior Rooms, Privilege Rooms, and Junior Suites. All rooms are equipped with air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, minibars, digital safes, and in-room dining options.
Dining options include Les Bernaches Restaurant, which offers a selection of international and Arabic dishes, featuring live cooking stations. La Vie Café Lounge provides light meals and speciality coffee, while La Maison Pool Lounge serves refreshments on the terrace with views of the Riyadh skyline.
Mercure Riyadh Al Anood also includes a rooftop wellness centre, featuring a swimming pool, children’s area, fitness centre, and spa services, including massages, a sauna, and steam baths. The fitness centre operates from early morning to late evening, catering to guests with varied schedules.
The hotel is positioned as a business-friendly destination with four multi-purpose meeting rooms. The largest venue accommodates up to 95 guests for banquets or 55 for conferences. The meeting spaces are equipped with audiovisual technology and catering services, offering facilities for corporate events and private functions.
The launch of Mercure Riyadh Al Anood aligns with Vision 2030, which aims to diversify Saudi Arabia’s economy, including significant investments in tourism. Accor continues to expand its portfolio in the region, capitalising on the growing demand for midscale and premium hospitality options.
