A new shopping experience called FOMO is opening next month in Mölndal Galleria, Gothenburg’s newest shopping centre. FOMO is a concept 12 month pop-up store with a broad range of categories focusing on brands that are not easily available in Sweden. FOMO is working on concepts that will benefit the community and will provide brands with the opportunity to engage with their customers.
FOMO, short for ‘fear of missing out’, will feature new and changing products throughout the calendar year, meaning that every time customers visit the store they will see, smell or taste something new. Like a micro-department store there will be a range of clothing, accessories, footwear, jewellery, home decor, art, handcrafted goods and much more.
The store is event focused to provide customers with a different type of retail experience. ‘The FOMO concept can be considered the WeWork of retail. It will offer convenience and a wow factor by providing limited editions and retail as a service’, says Ilona Taillade, CEO of BrandSpots, and founder of the FOMO concept.
FOMO is breaking down the barriers for international brands to enter a new market and provides Retail As A Service (RAAS). It lowers the risk for the retailer and provides the environment to test and launch new products or services. It is a place where retailers can engage with the customer to showcase and showroom their products. Brands are able to book space in the store through the We Are Pop Up online platform.
‘FOMO wants to enrich the shopping experience in a way that feels exciting and innovative. Its urban location in Gothenburg and modern design makes Mölndal Galleria a suitable setting for brands to maximize brand awareness and activation’, says Magnus Bergman, property development director at Citycon, Mölndal Galleria.
Mölndal Galleria is developed as a natural part of Mölndal’s city centre in the greater Gothenburg area. Comprising around 65 stores, cafés and restaurants in a central location, Mölndal Galleria is a convenient city district shopping galleria that caters to people’s need of everyday shopping and services.
