As Hong Kong continues to struggle with the fifth Covid-19 wave and the city-wide restrictions tighten, Foodpanda has announced a series of support measures, which add up to HKD3M.
The support measures include donating more than 12,000 meals to people in need and special initiatives for its restaurant and shop partners, delivery fleet and local vendors. According to Foodpanda, the company will contribute more than 12,000 HKD80 food vouchers with a total value of HKD1M to 15 local charities.
Vouchers can be applied to all the restaurants on its platform for food delivery or pick-up with no requirement for a minimum spend on orders. Charity partners will receive the vouchers in mid-March via redemption codes and people can use them in March and April.
Foodpanda Hong Kong will also run support programs for its partners up to a value of HKD2M. The company offers a free monthly listing for partner restaurants until 31 March and continues free practising for onboarding.
Small and medium local vendors will be provided with a commission rate reduced up to 28 per cent. Foodpanda also waives the registration fee until March 31 for new members who want to join its delivery fleet.
“Our restaurant vendors, retail partners, delivery fleet and loyal customers, are all facing tremendous challenges due to the pandemic,” said Ryan Lai, MD at Foodpanda Hong Kong.
