The leading footwear and sportswear omni-channel business has opened its new flagship store at The Trinity Leeds shopping centre.
The opening has created 19 jobs in a city where Footasylum has already seen strong commercial traction, with the Trinity Leeds pop-up demonstrating the strength of customer demand and reinforcing Leeds as a key location for the business. The move supports Footasylum’s wider UK expansion strategy, focused on high footfall, high performing destinations and follows recent store openings at Manchester Arndale, Glasgow Silverburn and Darlington Cornmill.
Trinity Leeds is the city’s largest shopping and leisure destination, home to more than 120 shops, cafes, bars, restaurants and an Everyman cinema. Footasylum’s new permanent 12,471sq ft store will be located on the lower ground floor, opposite Mango, in the unit previously occupied by Superdry.
The store showcases the full range of Footasylum brands including an assortment of renowned third-party brands including Nike, adidas Originals, ASICS and Saucony, alongside Footasylum’s exclusive labels such as Monterrain, Forena and Epic Kid.
Footasylum continues to progress its broader growth strategy. Recent developments include the appointment of Hannah Mercer as Chief Executive Officer, as well as international expansion across the DACH and Gulf regions, increased HSBC UK funding to support the ongoing store rollout programme and an expanded warehousing capacity and the strategic partnership with Trapstar, the pioneering British streetwear brand.
Shannon Osman, Retail Director at Footasylum, said: “Leeds has always been a city that sets its own pace and style and this new flagship is about matching that energy. We’re not just opening a store, we’re creating a space that reflects how our Leeds customers shop, move and express themselves. Openings like this play a key role in our growth strategy, strengthening our presence in high-performing locations while giving us a platform to bring our omni-channel vision to life.”
