Papafuku, the latest venue from Gates Hospitality, has opened its doors on the 43rd floor of Media One Hotel.
Inspired by the street markets of Southeast Asia and the spirit of Tokyo, Papafuku translates to Father of Luck. The menu focuses on Asian street food staples such gyoza, shrimp tempura, chilli mud crab, ramen, pad Thai and nasi goreng.
“We wanted to create something that feels alive,” says Dr Naim Maadad, Founder and CEO of Gates Hospitality. “Papafuku is about that street-side heat, the noise, the smell, the laughter. It’s unpolished in the best way possible. It’s about food that’s honest and fun to eat.”
The lighting, textures and colour all draw from the markets that inspired the concept, interpreted through a modern Dubai lens. Papafuku joins a portfolio that already includes Bistro Des Arts, Reform Social & Grill and Ultra Brasserie.
Though Gates also recently closed the folly Brasserie and Brasserie Des Arts venues the firm opened at The Address Montgomerie Hotel.
