The company has launched what it says is the region’s first Muscle Thobe and Ghutra collection, tapping into the growing link between fitness and cultural identity across the Gulf.
The UAE-founded gym chain unveiled the athleisure range in Saudi Arabia, saying it was created in response to demand from members who wanted apparel that reflected both their commitment to fitness and their cultural heritage.
GymNation’s believes that changing attitudes towards wellness, supported by initiatives such as Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and the UAE’s We The UAE 2031 strategy, have created a new generation of fitness enthusiasts who are equally proud of their sporting lifestyle and their cultural identity.
While sportswear has become part of everyday life in many parts of the world, GymNation says many Saudi men still change back into a traditional thobe immediately after training. The company identified an opportunity to create a garment designed specifically for before and after workouts rather than during exercise itself.
Unlike many product launches, GymNation says the idea did not originate in the boardroom. Instead, the concept emerged through conversations with members across its gyms, who spoke about the disconnect between their gym attire and traditional clothing.
