Boutique gym GymOn has signed to take 5,842sq ft at Sugar House Island in Stratford, marking the brand’s second London location.
This follows the recent opening of independent barbershop NTB and nail and beauty salon Dream Nails at the Island, with the three deals totalling 7,662sq ft and collectively reflecting continued demand for space at the east London neighbourhood from independent leisure and wellness operators.
The first GymOn in Battersea is one of south-west London’s most highly regarded independent gyms, renowned for its strong community atmosphere and comprehensive fitness offering. The new Stratford site will bring the Island GymOn’s distinctive mix of functional training, cardio, strength and conditioning, indoor and outdoor classes, personal training and an on-site coffee and juice bar, catering to the local area and the Island’s growing residential and business communities.
NTB Hair Lounge has taken 1,216sq ft at the Island, opening its first location at Sugar House Lane. Founded by a local husband-and-wife team, the combined salon and barbershop concept offers traditional grooming and hot towel shaves alongside haircuts, styling and treatments for women.
Dream Nails, founded in 2006, has taken 604sq ft. Having grown organically from its first salon in Essex to locations including Royal Wharf, Hackney Wick and Greenwich, Sugar House Island represents the latest phase of the brand’s expansion across East London.
The three businesses join an already established community of independent ground-floor operators at Sugar House Island, including coach-led training studio Marchon and gin distillery, bar and restaurant Jim & Tonic.
