Vietnamese beauty and personal care retailer Hasaki has entered the US market with the opening of its first store in California, marking the company’s first international expansion.
Hasaki announced the opening on social media, saying it had welcomed its first customers at the new store. The California outlet adopts the same store format as Hasaki’s locations in Vietnam, maintaining a consistent brand identity across markets.
“These moments are more than just the grand opening of a new location. They represent the realisation of a dream built through years of passion, dedication and the unwavering efforts of the entire Hasaki team,” the company said.
Founded in April 2016, Hasaki has grown to more than 300 cosmetics stores and 18 dermatology clinics across Vietnam, in addition to its e-commerce platform.
The company operates in cosmetics retail and dermatology services and is the official distributor of more than 600 beauty and personal care brands. It is also a strategic distribution partner in Vietnam for international brands, including La Roche-Posay, Eucerin, L’Oréal, Bioderma, Klairs, Maybelline and Vichy.
In 2023, Alibaba was reported to have agreed to acquire a minority stake in Hasaki through its international e-commerce arm, Alibaba International Digital Commerce Group (AIDC).
Hasaki is backed by Hong Kong-based private equity firm Excelsior Capital Asia through its Vietnam-focused fund.
