The British group JD Sports, a specialist in the distribution of sports-lifestyle brands, is increasing its presence in Italy with the inauguration of a new store in Nola, in the province of Naples, within the “Vulcano Buono” shopping center.
The British multinational company, one of the European leaders in sports fashion, was born in 1981 in Bury, a town 12 kilometers from Manchester, and has been present in Italy since 2015, the year of its first opening in Rome. The expansion of JD Sports into the country will continue throughout 2019, during which another six new store openings are planned (Rome Aprilia, Naples Afragola, Milan Sesto San Giovanni, Rome Maximo Laurentino, Cremona and Bari), which will be added to the 25 stores that the English retailer already controls in 11 Italian regions.
In recent months, the British retail giant has launched into a series of important acquisitions that have seen it take over the Footasylum and Pretty Green (United Kingdom), Finish Line (United States) and Sport Zone (Spain) brands.
