The renovation will begin on 1 November and the converted stores in Roosendaal, Vlissingen, Middelharnis, and Goes are scheduled to reopen in the middle of November.
The outlets in Vlissingen and Middelharnis will be the first to reopen as in the supermarket format. It will be followed by the store in Roosendaal, which will reopen as a Jumbo supermarket, while the outlet in Goes will reopen as a Jumbo Foodmarkt.
Agrimarkt Terneuzen and Oud-Beijerland will continue to operate as Lidl, the retailer added. The converted stores will be designed to create a fresh, contemporary Jumbo look, offering the largest assortment at the lowest price, the retailer said.
However, the stores will retain the character of the Agrimarkt outlets by including a range of local products in its assortment. The service area in the stores will offer customers grocery pick-up and delivery services. In July of this year, Jumbo acquired six Agrimarkt outlets in the south-west of the Netherlands.
