“Hands-free” footwear brand Kizik is expanding its physical presence by opening stores at two of America’s best-known malls.
Kizik has opened its second U.S. store, at Mall of America in Bloomington, Minn. The launch follows the April opening of the brand’s pop-up in New York City. (Kizik opened its first store in June 2023, at Fashion Place Mall in Murray, Utah, close to the company’s headquarters in Lindon, Utah.)
Kizik’s 1,645-sq.-ft. Mall of America store was created in partnership with design firm MG2, which said the key design principle of the Kizik in-store experience is “getting the customer to ‘try on’ as early in the journey as possible.
“It’s critical that consumers experience the step-in technology Kizik is known for at the very beginning of the customer journey,” said MG2 principal Melissa Gonzalez. “It’s an AHA moment that captures and celebrates the magic of the brand.”
Visitors are welcomed at the entrance with a Kizik blue footprint that aims to draw shoppers into the store. Standout design elements include the store’s materiality: a mix of surfaces that include perforated metals, concrete, and textured paints with LED neon and vibrant blue. The “elevated, versatile” displays are meant to capture a sense of motion to create an environment that empowers visitors to discover and explore, according to MG2.
