Lidl are expanding rapidly, it would appear. The supermarket chain is now planning to open a new store in the town of Ilava, Slovakia – the old store is no longer big enough to match the discount grocer’s plans.
Lidl are reportedly making the old store into an outlet store – which will sell non-food items that the company fails to sell to its customers will be collected and brought to the outlet store, which will be sold at discounts of up to seventy percent.
In order to minimize costs, Lidl won’t even be advertising which goods will be for sale at what prices. Lidl has tried this in other European countries, but it’s a first for Central Europe.
