Following store openings in Australia, Europe and Asia, Melbourne cycling apparel brand MAAP has opened its first LaB retail concept store in North America, with the MAAP LaB Los Angeles.
Situated in Venice Beach on the iconic Abbot Kinney Boulevard, the LA LaB marks the brand’s eighth store opening globally, with an international concept that sits at the intersection of contemporary creative culture and cycling.
Carrying a consistent visual aesthetic delivered by the talented team at Clare Cousins Architects, MAAP’s LA home features a vibrant, communal, retail and event space boasting stunning original exposed brick walls and wood rafters, plus a welcoming social coffee bar.
The new LA LaB embodies the brand’s commitment to premium design and creative experience along with a deep rooted love for cycling with the ‘Life Around Bikes’ ethos, emphasising real world connections within local communities that inspire creativity, community and performance on and off the bike.
MAAP Co-Founder & Co-CEO Oliver Cousins added: “The launch of MAAP LaB Los Angeles represents a defining moment for us as a brand. Venice puts us in the centre of a thriving cycling community in LA and it gives us our first real home in the US. The LaB is a hub for connection – welcoming our team, our friends and the wider community through rides, events and shared experiences. We’re proud to add to the fabric of LA’s cycling and cultural landscape.”
