Peel Retail & Leisure has announced that Macron, the premium Italian sportswear brand, has signed at Gloucester Quays ahead of the destination’s Summer of Sport activation.
Macron has signed for the 2,200sq ft unit adjacent to Jack Wills and All Saints, bringing its high performance sportswear and active fashion to Gloucester Quays’ prime retail line-up. The brand has been Gloucester Rugby’s Technical Kit Partner and Retail Partner since the start of the 2025/26 season and this new store strengthens its presence in Gloucester, following the Macron Sports Hub at Gloucester Business Park.
Macron brings its partnership with Gloucester Rugby to the city’s leading destination, set to stock the official kits for both the men’s and women’s rugby teams. It joins a strong sports and activewear line-up at Gloucester Quays, including the likes Puma, Asics and Adidas, which is also selling international football kits to celebrate the 2026 World Cup. Sports brands at Gloucester Quays have seen a three per cent increase in sales year-on-year, as they continue to thrive at the destination.
These activewear brands will be supported through a series of activations and event initiatives in the coming weeks and months, with the yearly Summer of Sport screening returning this summer. World Cup 2026 matches, Wimbledon, ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, The Masters, 2026 Commonwealth Games, 2026-27 UEFA Women’s Champions League will all be shown on a big screen at Pillar & Lucy Square, surrounded by Gloucester Quays’ bars and restaurants. Last year events there brought in over 5,000 viewers, driving engaged footfall throughout the summer months.
Paul Carter, Asset Director at Peel Retail & Leisure, commented: “The signing of Macron is reflective of Gloucester Quays’ appeal to activewear brands and its Gloucester Rugby partnership showcases the importance of local sporting heritage to the destination and its operators. Macron arrives at an ideal time too, with the Summer of Sport activation set to bring in sports fans from across the city, driving engaged footfall and creating opportunities for our well-aligned retail and leisure line up.”
