The company has opened its first Premium Outlet concept in Peru with the opening of Atocongo, south of Lima.
Following a $6.1M investment, the Chilean holding company transformed the former Open Plaza into a permanent discount retail option within its portfolio.
The complex boasts approximately 37,500sq m of gross leasable area and more than 25 initial brands. The offering includes fashion, footwear and accessories brands such as Adidas, Puma, Skechers, GAP, New Era and Steve Madden.
The company anticipates eight more openings, including Top Brands stores featuring labels like Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger and Karl Lagerfeld. The retail development aims to eventually house around 30 internationally recognised brands.
Atocongo becomes Mallplaza’s second property adapted to this format, after Concepción, Chile. The company is also considering bringing the concept to the former Open Plaza La Marina, as part of its redevelopment strategy in Peru.
In addition to this opening, the holding company announced that Mallplaza Trujillo is preparing an additional 7,500sq m, with the first stores expected to open in December and a full opening projected for 2027, according to the Peruvian operation’s Marketing Department.
