Manolo Blahnik, which was catapulted into the collective consciousness through the popular show; Sex and the City has closed its store in New York. A sign was posted in the shop window, which stated that the location was permanently closed. The sign read: ‘Thanks so much for being such great customers for the past 38 years.’
The small boutique became an essential part of the brand’s existence since Carrie Bradshaw, (Sarah Jessica Parker) in the Sex and the City series, claimed to have had a ‘religious experience’ at Manolo Blahnik.
It was unclear on Friday morning why Manolo Blahnik has decided to close the iconic store, however the move comes as the company prepares to end its long-standing partnership with George Malkemus, president of Manolo Blahnik USA, and partner Anthony Yurgaiti.
