The Westin Abha is scheduled to open in 2031 with 464 rooms, villas, chalets and extended-stay apartments.
Marriott International has signed an agreement to open The Westin Abha, marking the hotel group’s first property in Saudi Arabia’s Asir region. Scheduled to open in 2031, the hotel is set to be developed with Manarat Al Dheyafah Company for Real Estate and will be located in Jabal Thah Valley in Abha.
The project is expected to include 464 guestrooms, alongside villas, chalets and extended-stay apartments. It will also feature dining venues, meeting and event facilities and wellness-focused spaces. The signing adds to Marriott’s expansion across Saudi Arabia as the Kingdom develops tourism and hospitality infrastructure beyond Riyadh, Jeddah and the Red Sea coast.
Abha, the capital of the Asir region, is Saudi Arabia’s best-known mountain destination and is recognised for its elevated setting, cooler climate and natural landscapes. The hotel is expected to offer access to Abha International Airport and the city centre which serves as the commercial and cultural hub of the wider Asir region.
