Mr DIY Expands Plus Concept with New Store

The company has grown its larger-format retail concept with the opening of a new Mr DIY Plus store at Malaysia’s The Mines.

The latest outlet consolidates the group’s four retail brands: Mr DIY, Mr Toy, Mr Dollar and Emtop, under one roof, offering a wider range of home improvement, household, hardware, electrical, stationery, toy, automotive and lifestyle products.

The store also introduces community-focused features, including dedicated spaces for weekend workshops and activities, as well as interactive retail displays designed to encourage customer engagement.

According to the retailer, the larger-format concept is intended to provide customers with greater convenience by bringing multiple product categories into a single shopping destination with an easier-to-navigate layout.

“As shopping habits continue to evolve, customers are looking for convenience without compromising on variety or value,” said Adrian Ong, CEO of Mr DIY. “Mr DIY Plus at The Mines offers a refreshed shopping experience centred around everyday essentials, while giving customers access to a broader range of products under one roof. By being part of a community destination, we aim to become an even bigger part of our customers’ daily routines.”

The opening comes as Mr DIY continues to grow in the region. Earlier this year, the retailer surpassed the 1000-store milestone in Thailand and said it plans to add another 210 outlets in the market this year as it works towards a target of 3,000 stores there by 2031.
