Electric bikes are giving cyclists more confidence to get out and about on two wheels, says an expert who has launched a dedicated store in Fakenham.
In the first two months of opening his showroom and workshop in the heart of the town, Alan Poole, director of Norfolk Electric Bikes Ltd, has seen sales take off.
Having opened at 3 Millers Walk in November, trading in the run-up to Christmas far exceeded his expectations. Now he is predicting interest will continue to rise with the approach of spring and longer daylight hours.
He said: “Electric bikes are becoming more popular, especially for people who may have thought of giving up cycling. They know they can set off on a journey with the reassurance they have power on the bike to get them home.
