New Handroll Bar Shinobi set to Launch

Shinobi is opening in Dubai next week (6 July) and it will be located on Al Wasl Road, Shinobi promises “the energy of New York and the craftsmanship of Tokyo”.

Billed as a premium-casual dining spot, Shinobi will create made-to-order handrolls, focusing on quality ingredients, warm rice, crisp nori and premium seafood. There will also be nigiri, sashimi, tacos, salads, hot dishes and desserts on the menu. The beverage list will feature house-made sodas and kombuchas, as well as teas and coffee.

And it promises to be “more than just a restaurant”, with music, art, fashion and street culture also contributing to the space and atmosphere. Music ranges from old-school hip-hop to modern sounds, while there will also be DJ sessions.

The restaurant is from Monarch Hospitality Group, the team behind the seafood restaurant Kraken and the Moroccan eatery Mamati.

“For us, Shinobi was never just about the food,” said Badr Benryane, Founder of Monarch Hospitality Group. “It was about creating a place where great ingredients, music, design and people all have an equal role in the experience. We wanted something energetic, approachable and authentic, a place that feels just as relevant for a quick lunch as it does for a night out.”
