Nobu’s Shoreditch Hotel Acquired

Private equity firm Limestone Capital has acquired Nobu Hotel London Shoreditch for an undisclosed sum.

The 164-bed property opened in 2017 as the first European site for the Nobu Hospitality brand, which is helmed by chef Nobu Matsuhisa, Hollywood A-lister Robert De Niro and businessman Meir Teper.

The site temporarily closed in 2020 following the onset of the pandemic, before reopening two years later with an additional penthouse and two new skyline bedrooms located on the sixth floor. Electra America Hospitality Group previously attempted to buy the site in 2021 for a reported £75M, but the deal fell through. Limestone acquired the property from LaSalle in an off-market deal and was advised by JLL.

Benjamin Habbel, Co-Founder and CEO of Limestone Capital, commented: “We are pleased to add the Nobu Hotel London Shoreditch to our portfolio as we continue to expand our presence in key gateway cities. This acquisition underscores our confidence in the resilience of the London hospitality market and supports our strategy of acquiring well-located assets with strong value-add potential.”
