Real estate investor and asset manager Oberland, in partnership with real estate investment platform RealVantage, has acquired the Arthouse Hotel in Glasgow.

The Arthouse Hotel, formerly the ABode Hotel, was originally built in 1829 by James Campbell and previously the home of former UK Prime Minister Sir Henry Campbell-Bannerman.

Oberland plans to refurbish the property, including the “restoration of heritage aspects” and the “introduction of modern features” in both the private rooms and public areas. C1 Capital has taken over management of the Arthouse Hotel and will lead its transition and operations.

Andrew Dean, Co-Founder of Oberland, said: “We are pleased to have partnered with RealVantage on this strategic acquisition. Together, we are able to take advantage of the significant potential the Arthouse Hotel represents in one of the UK’s most dynamic cities.”

William Riordan, Co-Founder of Oberland, added: “The property, with its striking architecture and exceptional features, offers significant value creation opportunities and is a perfect fit for our strategy of acquiring and managing high-quality heritage assets.”
