Oz & Isle Opens in Cambridge

The Hobson Cambridge by Adina is pleased to announce the opening ofOz & Isle, its new restaurant and bar, set on Cambridge’s main high street.

Designed as a drinks-led, social space, Oz & Isle brings together the easy-going spirit of Australia with the warmth and familiarity of the British Isles, creating an inviting retreat in the heart of the city.

Oz & Isle is less about formality and more about how people come together. It is a place to pause, linger and reconnect, whether over a morning coffee, a relaxed afternoon gathering or an evening spent sharing plates and well-crafted drinks with friends. Hospitality sits at the centre of the experience, with a menu designed to be shared and a drink offering that champions quality, balance and creativity without pretence.

Inspired by landscapes ranging from Australia’s Yarra Valley to the fields and hedgerows of Cambridgeshire, Oz & Isle reflects a sense of place while remaining refreshingly informal. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, offering an escape from the energy of the surrounding streets while still feeling firmly rooted in Cambridge life.

The interior blends heritage and contemporary comfort. Exposed brickwork, brushed brass accents and soft greenery sit alongside intimate seating areas, creating a space that feels both elegant and relaxed. It is equally suited to quiet conversations, spontaneous meet ups or long evenings that unfold at an unhurried pace.

The Hobson Cambridge by Adina is housed within a beautifully restored Grade-II listed building on St Andrew’s Street. Formerly the stables of a 17th century businessman whose name inspired the phrase Hobson’s Choice and later Cambridge’s police and fire station, the building’s historic features have been carefully preserved.

Today, with 56 modern studio style apartments and the addition of Oz & Isle, it has been reimagined as a welcoming hub for travellers, locals and students alike. Oz & Isle offers a fresh take on modern hospitality in Cambridge, blending history, generosity and contemporary culture. Whether stopping by briefly or settling in for the evening, guests can expect a warm welcome and a space designed for sharing time well spent.
