Primark Opens First Qatar Store in Doha

Primark opens its first Qatar store at Doha Festival City, with 400 staff, as the retailer plans further openings in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait in 2027.

Primark has opened its first store in Qatar at Doha Festival City, marking the international fashion retailer’s entry into its 21st global market as it prepares to launch in Saudi Arabia in March 2027.

The new Doha flagship, opened in partnership with Alshaya Group, spans more than 52,000sq ft across three floors and employs more than 400 people.

The opening makes Qatar Primark’s fourth Middle Eastern market, following Kuwait in 2025 and the UAE and Bahrain in 2026.

The new store offers Primark’s range of fashion, everyday essentials and value-focused products. Opening-day celebrations included entertainment, giveaways and customer activities to mark the retailer’s debut in Qatar.

The launch is part of an ongoing regional expansion with Alshaya Group, which has introduced the brand across four Middle Eastern countries within approximately a year.

Eoin Tonge, Primark CEO, said: “It’s been a significant first year for Primark in the region and we’ve been excited by the response from customers as we’ve grown our presence. Today’s opening in Qatar builds on that momentum and marks the milestone of our 21st market globally. Together with Alshaya Group, we’re continuing to bring Primark to new places and new customers, with a second store in Qatar to follow early next year.”
