Primark to Launch Milestone Store

The international fashion chain Primark will reach a key milestone in its history in Italy. On 1 September, it will open its 500th store worldwide at the La Cartiera shopping centre in Naples, managed by ECE Marketplaces.

This opening marks a significant moment in the growth trajectory of the Irish retailer, which began with its first store on Mary Street in Dublin in 1969 and has now grown to 500 stores serving millions of customers in 19 markets across Europe, the US and the Middle East.

The new Primark store in La Cartiera will be Primark’s third outlet in Campania and its 22nd in Italy. Primark La Cartiera will occupy a retail space of 3,160sq m and will create 150 new local jobs. Coinciding with the back-to-school season, the store will offer local customers a selection of clothing for women, men and children, beauty products and home and lifestyle items. Furthermore, as part of Primark’s new “Iconic Value” era, customers will benefit from lower prices on hundreds of everyday items.

Primark will continue its expansion in Campania with the opening of a second store on 8 September in the “Grande Sud” Retail Park in Giugliano (in the province of Naples), a centre managed and developed by Nhood. This store will create 180 new local jobs and will have a retail space of 4,260sq m. In this way, the total number of Primark employees in Italy will exceed 5,000.

Primark’s openings in Campania are part of a broader investment plan that will bring the international fashion and accessories chain to a total of 28 stores in the southern Italian region in the coming years.
