Mallorca’s sun-drenched southwest coast welcome’s a new name in barefoot luxury. Following a soft launch last summer, Purobeach Resort Santa Ponsa – Oasis del Mar is opening for its first full season on 12 March with new rooms, dining concepts and facilities.
The resort is the latest addition from Puro Group, the island-born hospitality brand known for its iconic beach clubs and design-led urban hotels, promising a seamless fusion of the group’s two icon brands – Purobeach and Puro Hotels – under one flagship property.
Nestled in the secluded hills of Santa Ponsa, yet just 30 minutes away from Palma, the resort has been designed to seamlessly integrate into the natural surroundings of Calvià, a destination celebrated for its white sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, world-class golf resorts and the refined luxury at Port Adriano. Beyond the town’s shoreline lies the magnificent backdrop of the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range. With UNESCO World Heritage Site status, guests are just a 10-minute drive away from the breathtaking GR-221 trail, bordered by ancient dry-stone walls and centuries-old olive trees.
The property reopens with 160 Mediterranean-inspired rooms and suites with sea view options, alongside a private beach club within the resort where sunset views unfold to signature Puro Music soundtracks. Guests can enjoy an outdoor heated pool, a beach club area, an open-air gym and a state-of-the-art wellness space designed for restoration and balance. New on-site sports areas, including padel courts, will be available soon.
Across three restaurants and bars, the resort’s culinary concept celebrates cuisine rooted in locally sourced ingredients and Mallorca’s natural surroundings. ONA, meaning “wave” in Catalan, is an intimate space inspired by the elements and the movement between land and sea. The Josper oven becomes the heart of the kitchen, ensuring every dish carries authentic character and flavour, while honouring the identity and simplicity of each ingredient.
