Red Sea Global has announced a strategic agreement with Marriott International to open The Ritz-Carlton, AMAALA.
This marks the fourth collaboration between the organisations, following the openings of The St. Regis Red Sea Resort and Nujuma, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, and the signing of The Red Sea EDITION.
The Ritz-Carlton, AMAALA is set to open in 2025 on the northernmost point of Triple Bay. The property will feature 391 guestrooms, with 80 per cent offering water-facing views. Guests will have a mix of Marina Village, sea, and mountain vistas.
“AMAALA continues to set a new standard in the world of wellness travel and luxury coastal lifestyle with the addition of its latest hotel brand, The Ritz-Carlton AMAALA , our largest property at the destination. With spectacular views of the Red Sea, the Marina Village and the Hijaz mountains, guests will enjoy a sense of calm and rejuvenation as they enjoy the hotel’s many facilities,” John Pagano, Group CEO of Red Sea Global said.
The resort will be situated within preserved natural sand dunes, with a design that integrates with the surroundings.
Foster + Partners has designed the property to reflect the local architecture of Al Wajh, a nearby seaside town on the Red Sea.
“AMAALA promises to be a one-of-a-kind, holistic wellness destination, and this signing signifies the strong demand for luxury experiences in emerging destinations in Saudi Arabia,” Jerome Briet, Chief Development Officer, Europe, Middle East & Africa, Marriott International, said, adding “We are thrilled to strengthen our relationship with Red Sea Global to bring an unrivalled level of luxury to the north of the Kingdom’s coast.”
Planned amenities include multiple culinary venues, fitness and recreational centres, a spa, pools, and event spaces.
The resort will offer direct beach access and a range of outdoor sporting activities.
he Ritz-Carlton, AMAALA is part of AMAALA’s Phase One, which focuses on the Triple Bay masterplan. The first guests are expected in 2025, with Phase One comprising eight resorts and over 1,400 hotel keys.
Upon completion, AMAALA will house more than 4,000 hotel rooms across 30 hotels, alongside approximately 1,200 luxury residential properties.
