Sushi Revolution and The Village Tree have agreed terms to take 1,850sq ft and 1,250sq ft respectively at British Land and AustralianSuper’s 53-acre Canada Water development, with both operators planning to open later this year.
The restaurants will be located on the ground floor of Three Deal Porters, a mixed-use building with collaborative, adaptable workspace above, located opposite Canada Water tube station. Sushi Revolution will offer al fresco dining within Dock Office Gardens and The Village Tree will overlook Canada Dock.
Sushi Revolution will be a modern ‘izakaya’, an informal, warm and affordable restaurant for dining-in and takeaway, which builds on the success of the brand’s acclaimed eateries in Brixton and Shoreditch. The menu combines classic sushi with more contemporary dishes, featuring an extensive selection of vegetarian and vegan options.
The concept is spearheaded by Sticks’n’Sushi alumni Aidan Bryan – a local of Canada Water himself – and Tom Blackshaw, who have nearly three decades of restaurant experience between them.
The Village Tree will be the third offering from Rotherhithe-based husband and wife team Matt Lloyd and Tze-May Ng, who run the successful restaurant and deli The Pear Tree in SE8 and The Barn at Surrey Docks City Farm.
Designed as an all-day destination, The Village Tree will serve salads, sandwiches and savoury bakes, alongside a selection of baked goods from local London bakeries. In the evening it will operate as a wine bar offering small plates.

They will be in a prime location when they open this year, surrounded by workspace, apartments and the new Canada Water Leisure Centre which is opening this spring. The day to night offering was a key part of their appeal.”
