Shake Shack to Make Brazil Debut in 2027

Shake Shack is plotting its entrance into South America’s largest market.

The New York City-based fast-casual hamburger chain will enter Brazil through a new licensing partnership with Bold Hospitality Company. Shake Shack and Bold Hospitality plan to develop 40 locations across Brazil by 2036, with its first location planned for São Paulo in 2027.

The Latin American expansion follows seven years of growth in Mexico, and its upcoming entry into Panama, where the company plans to develop 12 locations by 2035.

“As we continue to expand across Latin America, Brazil has long stood out as one of our most requested markets,” said Michael Kark, president of global licensing at Shake Shack. “Its passion for great food, lively culture, and meaningful hospitality makes it a natural fit for Shake Shack, and we’re excited to partner with Bold Hospitality Company to embark on this next chapter of growth.”

Founded in 2004, Shake Shack operates more than 740 locations system-wide, including approximately 475 in 36 U.S. States and the District of Columbia. The company operates more than 265 international locations across London, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore, Mexico City, Istanbul, Dubai, Tokyo, Seoul and more.

Bold Hospitality Company is the holding company behind Outback Steakhouse, Abbraccio and Aussie in Brazil. Formed in 2025 through a partnership between Vinci Compass and Bloomin’ Brands Inc., the company expects to end the year with 217 restaurants across 22 states and the Federal District in Brazil.
