SHI Hospitality to Debut New Asian Venue

Opening this September, MEI will fuse premium Asian flavours with design-led dining and late-night entertainment.

Dubai-based SHI Hospitality Group, known for Asian dining concepts including SHI on Bluewaters Island and MOLI by SHI at Dubai Hills, will expand its portfolio next month with the launch of MEI at Jumeirah Mina A’Salam.

Opening in September, the new restaurant is pitched as a hybrid dining and nightlife concept, offering Chinese and Japanese cuisine alongside design-led interiors and late-night entertainment. Grand pivot doors lead into a space conceived as a living gallery: abstract murals ripple across the walls, intricate woodwork frames the interiors and golden light defines the atmosphere.

A 120-seat terrace overlooking the Burj Al Arab sets the stage for the outdoor experience, while inside, 137 seats and a 14-seat bar balance spectacle with intimacy.

At the heart of MEI’s menu is a commitment to both heritage and innovation, spanning Chinese and Japanese influences. The robata grill anchors the experience with premium meats and seafood, complemented by wok-fired classics, claypot dishes and signature duck preparations.

Through a direct supply line from Tokyo’s Toyosu Fish Market, MEI is positioning its Japanese offering at the premium end of Dubai’s dining scene, with fresh sashimi, maki and seasonal rotations.
