Silk Unveils Minimalist Concept Store

Hong Kong tea brand Silk will open a concept store at Citygate Outlets in Tung Chung this month, marking its first new-format location of the year.

Situated on level two of the outlet centre near Hong Kong International Airport, the store is designed to attract both local shoppers and transit passengers, placing the brand within one of the city’s busiest retail precincts.

According to Silk, the Citygate store represents a shift in its retail design approach, moving away from traditional tea shop aesthetics towards a more pared-back, lifestyle-oriented format. The interior features raw materials, neutral tones and controlled lighting as it aims to create a calmer setting within the high-traffic mall environment.

Instead of densely packed product displays, the layout focuses on open space and minimal presentation, directing attention to the brand’s core tea range and related merchandise.

To mark the launch, Silk will introduce a Citygate-exclusive merchandise line, including limited-edition apparel and tea ware available only at the Tung Chung location. The opening forms part of Silk’s broader strategy to expand into high-footfall lifestyle destinations while continuing to refine its retail concept.
