Souk Madinat Jumeirah to be Home to New Restaurant

A new restaurant and bar concept will be getting a prime spot at the corner of the entrance of Souk Madinat Jumeirah, bringing with it a mythical and mysterious aura.

Amaru, a legend steeped in Andean mythology, makes its debut in January, bringing with it a lively Latin atmosphere, DJ-led sets, vibrant piscos, smoky mezcals and ceviche.

The venue has three distinct spaces, the heart of which is the central bar that greets guests as they arrive. Complete with no/low creations known as Amaru’s Sober Whispers, each drink reflects the space’s theatricality and energy.

The Chef’s Table offers a more intimate experience through a curated taste journey in Amaru’s private dining room. A taste journey guides guests through Latin America, from the citrus and spice of Peruvian ceviche to the coastal vibrancy of Brazilian seafood stew or moqueca.

Finally, The Galleria, a vantage point six metres above the venue that offers perspective and privacy, complete with its own bar.

Not unlike Souk Madinat Jumeirah‘s own transformation, the ideology behind Amaru symbolises change, prosperity and connection, with this mythological god often depicted as a serpent that stands for cosmic balance, evolution and spiritual power. Amaru is often depicted in shamanic traditions as the integral connection between earthly and spiritual realms.

The home-grown restaurant and bar concept is poised to bind the worlds of global excellence and local imagination, adding to the city’s nightlife and fine dining scene. But above all, Amaru seeks to be memorable, with its clay and carved wood interiors juxtaposed with modern music evoking an experience unlike any other.
